The Bedford Corn Exchange was the chosen venue for the finale of the “Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity” which donates money to children’s hospitals for medical equipment and, in addition this year, funds were also raised for the Bedford Hospital.
The charity established in 1993 is the largest non-government and non-profit making Polish organisation, the event is very well respected among the community and attracts many local bands and is also strongly supported by special guests from Poland to include Malgorzata Ostrowska, Poparzeni Kawa Trzy.
As ever, floor space on any stage is at a premium, the fine balance between performer’s space and the ever increasing demand by spectators and broadcasters for close up shots of the performers without inhibiting or endangering the performers is tough
Volunteer Marek Jamroz who is deeply involved with the charity, and who provided his filming, video editing skills and knowledge, approached Polecam knowing that one quick and easy solution would be to use the Polecam Autopod remotely controlled low profile camera elevation system.
Marek said “Autopod was the only way to take footage from the stage during the concert without any cameramen presence on stage. Autopod is compact and lightweight enabling quick relocation by one person if necessary on concert stage which is a very busy environment. Marek opted to use the new Blackmagic Pocket 4K camera mounted on the inverted Polecam remote Long head.
